Think Like a Product Manager!

QUESTION:

Think Like a Product Manager

Think about your favorite product. Why do you like it more than a competitive product?
Now imagine, you are a PM for that product. What would you tell the Sales team? What would you share with the Customer Support team?

ANSWER:

One of my favorite enterprise products is the Atlassian Suite of products (Jira, Confluence, etc).
Jira is a product management tool that helps manage sprints and all the details around product management.

In order for my CS team to be able to help our users, I would need to make sure the CS team is aware of all the features (like how to create an epic or log a bug or how to manage a sprint). There are training videos in the product, these are great and very helpful. I would work with the CS team to create more of these videos and guides to major flows.

For the Sales team: I would work with sales to outline the biggest pluses of our product. These are being able to manage all your product development in one place, an easy way for the managers to see what is done and a great way for product managers being able to get their job done. We would outline a value proposition along these lines.
